Good FRIDAY morning!!!!! I hope everyone is having a good Friday so far! I am! Mostly because I got a FULL nights sleep…yahoo!!!!! We will get back to that later. Yesterday after work, Mel and I met up with Adam, Kevin and our friend Eddie to get a few drinks before the cruise. We ended up going to The Landing. I ordered a Sam Summer (x2).

IMG_0895After we had our beers, Adam was hungry and went to get a soft pretzel at one of the vendors on the pier, look what else he came back with ๐Ÿ˜‰

IMG_0896What a guy! He got me a veggie burger too, I ate it just like you see it – no bun( they only had white buns), little mustard.ย  Then we met up with a few others and boarded the boat. They had food on the boat but nothing that interested me (Buffalo tenders, sausages, meatballs and fried egg rolls).ย  While on the Harbor Cruise I enjoyed (I think 3) Sam Summers.

IMG_0900Look at Adam being crazy in the background hahaha!

Mel and Kevin wanted me to document their food and beer choices too!

IMG_0901Mel with her meatball (she loves meatballs so much, that when her and Kevin first started dating he referred to her as his little meatball ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and Kevin with his Corona.

Here is a beautiful picture of the sun going down…amazing, I love my city!

IMG_0898Here are some other pics from the night.

IMG_0907Me and my hunny!

IMG_0905Mel and the boys!IMG_0910City lights!

After we got off the boat, the rest of the crew went out and Adam and I decided to go grab something to eat (e didn’t really eat dinner and this girl cannot skip a meal). We stopped at home first then decided we wanted Pizza!!! We went to Regina but I forgot to bring my camera. I felt so bad about this…even ask Adam. I had a house salad :

House Salad :Mixed greens topped with cherry tomatoes, carrot slivers, red onion rings, pepperoncini peppers, black olives, marinated chick peas, baby spinach, and croutons. (I picked out the croutons)

and I ordered a small Puttenesca:

Puttanesca Pizza

Plump artichoke hearts and sliced black olives on top of Regina’s famous red sauce pizza and dressed with pecorino romano and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkled with fresh basil.
It is what I usually get and it was awesome! I had two small slices. We had our food wrapped up, but left it on the table. Don’t you hate that?
As soon as we got home I got ready for bed, TV off and slept like a baby! Today’s breakfast was another peanut butter cup bagel:
IMG_0914and that last bit of watermelon:
IMG_0913I had an iced coffee while talking to Kara and walking to work.
Today I am wearing this yellow dress, I have no idea where I bought it…it is old!
IMG_0917I have this sweater too in case I get cold (old pic).
IMG_0070See you in a bit…I am swamped today!

WALKING ZOMBIE

Sorry I didn’t blog last night, I had this bright idea so skip it to get some sleep, HA, Right! We will get back to that later. I walked home from work yesterday with Melissa (I love having a walking buddy), on the way home I stopped in at her apt. and she gave me two shirts and a pair of black pants she doesn’t wear anymore! I love cute clothes, and I love free ones even more!!!! Thanks, Mel ๐Ÿ˜‰

After that, I went to my mom and dad’s to pick up Oscar, he was so sleepy…I don’t know why that dog is so tired, he sleeps more than anyone I know.ย  I decided not to go on my run ( but did get in a difficult biceps and shoulder workout) for a few reasons:

  1. I was so sore from the hard run I did the day before
  2. My dad said it was going to downpour and thunder- the last thing I needed was to get a mile or so out and it start pouring (I don’t think it actually ended up raining at all though).
  3. I was EXHAUSTED after two terrible nights of sleep.

So instead, I got right to making dinner. Last nights dinner as a star ingredient:

IMG_0879Polenta! After seeing Polenta all over Caitlin’s blog, I decided to give it a try. But, I decide to cook it a little different than her. It was an experiment ๐Ÿ™‚

I cut the log into three pretty equal piece. One piece went right into the freezer for a later date, the second section I sliced up into 1/4 inch pieces and put them in Tupperware, then into the fridge for another dinner later on this week. The third piece I cut into 1/4 inch pieces and put on a heated up George Forman Grill.

IMG_0880While the polenta was grilling, I heated up a small skillet, sprayed it with Olive Oil cooking spray and added some veggie meat that I had defrosted in the fridge over night. Once it was heated up a little I added come organic pasta sauce and about a tablespoon and a half ofย  fat free ricotta cheese

IMG_0881Once that was heated and the polenta was cooked through, I put the polenta in a bowl and added the veggie meat/sauce/ricotta mixture over it.

IMG_0885close up:

IMG_0884THE VERDICT: um, experiment successful!!!!! It reminded me of a meat lasagna…but a lot healthier! So good. I love when my experiments turn out well!!!!

After dinner, I decided to lay on the couch and veg out, while watching some Bridzilla’s that I had on my DVR. These to episodes I watched were awful. This bride was soooooo abusive to her mother-in-law, it was pretty awful. I think I am going to stop watching it all together. I am not really that entertained as much as I am embarrassed for these girls and feel bad for the people that have to deal with them. After I watched those to, the movie Gia was on, I decided to watch it because I remembered my friend Jeanette from college doing a project on it and she said ti was really good. It was!

Around 10:30, I did some dishes, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got in bed.ย  I laid there in the darkness until 11, when I finally fell asleep. Adam came home at 11:45-ish, we was fumbling with the locks and then Oscar starting barking and that woke me up. When he came home, he sat in the living room watching TV, that kept me awake fore about 35 minutes before I asked him to turn it down, he did. Him walking around, and showering for then next hour or so kept me awake. I was thinking, “UGH – Brain turn off PLEASE!” When Adam got into bed, he fell asleep right away, I WAS SO JEALOUS!!! I was awake until 2:15. At 3 am, Oscar started pacing around the apt. I could hear his little toe nails on the hard wood floor. I knew he needed to go to the bathroom, there was NO WAYย  I was walking him at 3am, so I opened the back door to let him pee outside. This little guy decided he didn’t want to come back in!!!! So, I was out there yelling at him and finally got him in. Then I laid there awake until 4:15. When The alarm went off at 5:30 I literally laughed at the idea of getting up to run. I got back in bed and laid there mostly awake until 7:30 when I could muster up the want-to to get out of bed. UGH ๐Ÿ˜ฆ 3 nights in a row…combined total of …drum roll please … 10 hours of sleep.

This is what I look like today!IMG_0889

tired eyes….

I stilled walked to work today, and talked to Kara for a little while. When I ordered my large iced coffee this morning, I requested it in an IV. The guy at the coffee shop got a kick out of that…too bad I was serious ๐Ÿ˜‰ I also ran into and old friend Kristin on my way to work..it was good to chat with her for a few minutes!

I was running so late I packed my brekkie to go and eat it at work: vanilla chobani, ksashi go lean, blueberries and strawberries.

IMG_0890Today I am wearing this dress:

Well, I have a lot to do! Today is my brother’s 30th Birthday, Happy Birthday Nick! I am hoping to stay awake and get a lot of work done, tonight we are going on a benefit cruise from 7p-10p (MUST STAY AWAKE). It is for a friend ofย  a girl I know that is doing the Pan Mass Challenge. So it is for a good cause, I am just hoping I can stay awake!

On a roll…

Hi! I hope your Humpday is rolling along just fine. Mine is, other than the fact that I just smacked my head off my desk trying to get something out from under it…OUCH!

Lunch today was a cracked pepper turkey sandwich, with a laughing cow cheese, yellow mustard, red bell pepper and spinach on a WHOLE WHEAT ROLL. This roll was the STAR of the show. The rolls were an impulse buy at the grocery store Monday, Thanks Impulse!

IMG_0871Look at this beauty!

Good Morning! I am sad to report that I didn’t get much sleep again last night! Adam has agreed to shut the TV OFF at bed time tonight. I really believe that this TV being on is starting to mess with my sleep. I have never slept with the TV on in my whole life until Adam and I moved in together (almost 3 years ago). I made the compromise for three years and now it is his turn. I am hoping that will help. In the past two night combined I have gotten 8 hours of sleep! NO GOOD!

What do you do to help you fall asleep when it seems impossible?

This morning for breakfast I made a peanut butter cup bagel (with Banana). I toasted a whole wheat bagel until it was crispy and put dark chocolate peanut butter on oneย  side and regular peanut butter on the other, then cut up half of a banana and added that.

IMG_0865then I put the two half together and cut it in half and ate it like a sandwich…so tasty!

IMG_0866I also enjoyed a juicy piece of watermelon with it ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_0867While walking to work and chatting with Kara I drank a large Ice Coffee.

Today I am wearing this:

IMG_0868Pink top (H&M), black capris – that are way too big for me I need to get them taken in (NY&Co.) and black leather sandals (Target).

IMG_0869I really LOVE the neckline of this shirt, so cute right?! While walking to work I actually saw another girl wearing it, we both laughed! Great minds think alike.

Shoes, so comfy!

IMG_0870Well I got A LOT of work to do. See you guys later:) Have a great Humpday!

Pushin' It

Hi everyone! Well I walked home from work today even in this heat! When I got home I checked my voice-mail for my part-time job and then Adam and I set out for a run. We PUSHED IT tonight for sure. We ran 4.75 miles in the heat and humidity. I have to admit it may have been the hardest run I have ever done. Mainly because this humidity makes it harder to breathe and since I smoked only a year and a half ago (and for 11 years), my lungs are already not the greatest. After I felt amazingly proud and amazingly sweaty! ย Adam and I make a great team when it comes to this stuff (I guess we should after being together for almost 11 years!) We can really do anything when we are together, we push each other in such the perfect way, in running and in life in general. Ok, ok enough with the mussy stuff…well almost.

Adam being the great guy he is, got my car washed and detailed for me today while I was at work. Look how pretty it looks: Outside:

IMG_0851Front seat and dash:

IMG_0852Back seat:

IMG_0854Floor (you could eat off these!!!!!)

IMG_0853After our run I had a scoop of protein powder and 5 oz. of fat free milk before hopping in a COLD shower ๐Ÿ™‚

For dinner, I defrosted a piece of chicken my mom had given me from her left overs about a month ago, it was marinated in an apple marinade. I LOVE IT! I think there are a few more pieces in my freezer. Adam heated it up for me on grill while he cooked his steak tips. For sides I had steamed broccoli and carrots from the freezer as well.

IMG_0855I like this brand because it is orgainic, quick, cheap and there is enough for two servings so I always have left overs ๐Ÿ™‚ I also made some rice, I have been looking for these everywhere and found them at Market Basket in New Hampshire. I am hoping the one near me gets them soon too!

IMG_0856I loved this Curry flavor, it reminded me of Indian Food!!!! While get the sides ready for Adam and I, I ate two raw almonds:

IMG_0857Dinner His:

IMG_0862Dinner Hers:

IMG_0858My meal was good. It reminded me of a buffet in Vegas. The chicken reminded me of Chinese Food because of the marinade, the veggies had an Italian taste because they were cooked with garlic and the rice tasted Indian. It was like those around the world buffets that are all over Vegas, but MUCH healthier! I ate all but a bit eof the chicken (it fell off my fork and right into Oscar’s mouth, no joke…lucky dog), all the veggies (of course) and about 3/4 of the rice.

For dessert I had a 1/3 of a cup of Stoneyfield Farms coffee frozen yogurt, and 1/3 of a cup of Stonefield Farms chocolate frozen yogurt with 5 mini dark chocolate chips.

IMG_0863Yummmmmm…..

IMG_0864I like eating frozen yogurt out of juice glasses because it is cute and the perfect amount. Well, this girl is worn out and ready for bed. Sleep tight!
