Hi everyone. I am sure you noticed that I have been missing since last night. I am dealing with something that has made me unable to blog. Thanks for your understanding.

Hey everyone! How was your Thursday?! Mine was great! While finishing up at work for the day, I snacked on some Trader Joe’s peanut butter pretzels.
After work, I headed to the dry cleaners to pick up some pants I dropped off to get taken in. I had 6 pairs of pants there and 3 skirts (which is not even the tip of the ice burg of what I need to have taken in). I only picked up three pairs of pants because to get everything was over $120!!! This is going to be an pricey weekend (hair and makeup ect.) so I picked up my must haves!
Two pairs of gray pants and a pair of dark brown. I tried them on and they fit perfect!!! It is so great to have pants that fit me again 🙂
After the dry cleaners, I stopped at the coffee shop and then my part-time job. I sipped on a small decaf while dealing with voice mails and payments for about an hour.
Dinner tonight was easy. I was not in the mood for anything fancy. A turkey, light feta and tomato sandwich on whole wheat bread, pressed on the Forman.
Melty feta 🙂
Oh and I added some of this to the sandwich:
It added a firey kick to it…so yummy. On the side I had about 1 and a half hand fulls of these kettle chips.
My bestie, May came over to borrow something for her halloween costume and I made us some low sugar hot coco with stoneyfiel vanilla froyo and dark chocolate chips to sip on while we chatted about our weeks.
So good, one of my new favorite desserts!! I spent the rest of the evening hanging out with Oscar and Adam.
Well, I am off to bed, I have a busy day tomorrow:
1. 5k fun run with work at 6:30am.
3. Body Pump at 1:00pm
4. Rehearsal Dinner
Eventful Friday, so this girl needs some rest!! See you guys in the morning!!!
OMG you guys, with all the pumpkin I have been consuming, I literally turned into one!!!! AHHHHHHHH!
HAHAHA! I am obviously joking! I got my mani and pedi for Wicked Bride’s Wedding. Since my dress and shoes are black and it is on Halloween, I could not resist getting orange toes 🙂
Don’t worry, I got a normal color on my nails.
They are a nice shear white I think the color is called “Picket Fence” by Essie.
I got my brows waxed too 🙂
I am going all out, huh?! They look a zillion times better, they seriously looked a hot mess before, I didn’t take a before picture because it was embarrassing!
I went and got my nails and brows done during lunch (ah the benefits of working right in downtown Boston). Before heading to the nail salon and while working) I had lunch.
Left over Burrito Guts and salad from last night! I added more salsa since things tend to dry out in the microwave, it made it a lot more spicy…which I loved!
I need to add a goal to my list from the other night: MOISTURIZE!
Oh man, I am already getting that dry winter skin! I have been sitting here scratching all day- attractive! I blame running outside in the cold temps, but since I am unwilling to stop running outside, I need to start making sure I moisturize after EVERY shower!
Do you moisturize often, or do you skip it due to time constraint like me?
Morning!!! This morning I got up at 6:20 (went to bed at 10:30pm…almost 8 hours 🙂 ) and met reader (and new friend) Julia for a run along the Charles River. It was a chilly morning here in Boston. Luckly, I was wearing my new running tights I got at TJ Maxx for like $10! I was searching for some nice running tights because when I wear my wider leg pants, the wind goes right up my legs. I was so excited when I found these Nike DryFit Running Tights (originally priced at $65.00) at TJ Maxx. God, I love that store!
They kept me super warm! My run this morning was about 5.5 miles. The Garmin died close to the end so I can’t be 100% sure! I guess, I need to be better about charging it, I had no idea the battery dies so fast! Live and learn! All in all it was a GREAT RUN! I really love running with Julia because she is faster than me and that pushed me. I run at a faster pace when I am with her, and though it is not easy, I think it is making me a better runner! We also always have a lot to talk about and have a lot in common, but enough different that it is interesting 🙂 Don’t you just love running partners?! I look forward to our meet up every week!
I didn’t know what I wanted for breakfast this morning, so I made a little platter 🙂
Last berry bran muffin that I made Saturday night, morningstar veggie sausage, 2 hard boiled egg whites.
Fruit: grapes, blueberries and raspberries. I also had some pumpkin spice coffee. It was exactly what I wanted. I love having a whole bunch of little things when I don’t know what I want 🙂
All morning while eating breakfast, showering, doing hair and makeup I noticed my little shadow, Oscar was missing. When I went into our bedroom to get dressed, I found this:
He looks like the witch from the Wizard of Oz, when the house fell on her! I guess he was sleepy?!
Here is today’s outfit:
Literally EVERYTHING in this picture is something I have owned for 4 plus years! Brown boots (Nine West), Brown Cord Trousers (Jacob), Argyle Vest (Gap), White Top (Express). I love argyle, I think it always looks so polished while adding color and pattern. My papa says I love it because I am Scottish. Maybe it’s in my genes.
See you guys at lunch! Have a great day!
Ok, first things first, thanks so much for trying to help me decide what shoes to wear with my dress for the Rehearsal Dinner on Friday. Today, I decided to try on the dress with some shoe options, I realized the dress is too big. It is really big in the um…chest area, and that is one place I want covered up. So, I threw it in the pile of things that need to be taken in and worked on other options. Change of Plans!
Here is our winner:
It is a black dress that fits great, but here is the best part:
I love this neckline, so fun! I am wearing it with black suede round toe pumps.
I am happy with it, I love the gray dress, too bad it didn’t work out!!
Dinner was quick and easy. It was what I call burrito guts! It is basically all the stuff you find in a burrito minus the actual tortilla.
Brown rice, kidney beans, reduced fat cheddar (a TJ’s cheese stick grated), hot salsa and a spoonful of plain fat free greek yogurt (in place of sour cream). It is so yummy, just like a burrito but you eat it with a spoon:)
I ate it with a side salad: spring mix, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers with cilantro dressing.
I went to a 7:30 Body Pump class, and it was HARD. This class has made me strong, I am already lifting heavier weight!!! I am so addicted to this class it is an amazing strength training workout. I literally cannot say enough about it!
When I got home, I found apple pie from my mom waiting for me! Ugh, trying to cut back (not give up, unrealistic) desserts is hard when you have a mom that is such a great cook and brings you over treats! Adam and I split a piece. Adam did the cutting, so my piece was more like a pile 🙂
Well, I gotta get to bed! I am meeting a reader Julia for a run in the morning!!! See you guys tomorrow. Sleep well 🙂
Hey everyone! Good Afternoon! How is your day? Mine is FLYING BY– too fast! Around 11am I was hungry…so I dipped into the snack draw and grabbed a primal strip.
This was my first time trying a Primal Strip. It was ok, it reminded me of jerky, I will probably not buy more, but will most likely eat the other one in my draw at some point simply because I don’t waste.
Lunch was a turkey, laughing cow, lemon hummus, lettuce and cucumber wrap with an apple from apple picking this weekend.
Simple and easy (not to mention tasty). I also tired some ice coffee that was sent to me by the people at Pacific foods!
I poured about 1/2 of the container into a cup.
It was creamier and more flavorful than any iced coffee I have ever had. I really enjoyed this creamy little treat. It was more like an iced latte in my opinion, but I am not complaining. Yum!
I had it as part of my afternoon snack which was a Trader Joe’s lowfat mocho yogurt.
and some of my Food, Fitness Fashion Mix granola from MixMyGranola.
That’s a whole lot of Mocha!!!!I actually only ended up eating half of my snack because I thought the yogurt was GROSS! When I found myself choking it down I realized it it I have to choke it down, I should probably not bother!!
Well it is Wednesday so without further ado:

Morning!!!! I hope your Thursday is off to a good start! It is a rainy, dreary day here in Boston.
Let’s begin with checking in on my back on track goals:
- Bed time last night: 10:45pm, I am getting closer, right?
- Out of bed 6:32 am (it counts), Adam even suggested a snooze, but I so no! I declined a hit of the snooze button…WHO AM I?!
- Adam and I had coffee together this morning 🙂 It really is a great start to the day.
- I prepped for today last night…it made my life a whole lot easier this morning.
All in all, a success and it makes me a lot happier!
What to know who was not a fan of the get up by 6:30 rule?
This guy was begging me to get back in bed. The fact that I resisted Oscar’s beckoning is nothing short of a miracle!
This mornings breakfast was a bowl of extra special oats 🙂
- 1/2 of a banana
- 1/2 a cup of oats
- 1 cup of water
- Honey Almond Butter
- Caramel Coffee Sauce (that I bought while apple picking)
All mixed in topped with a little cinnamon!
The Caramel Coffee sauce added a nice sweetness to my pumpkin oats. This could be very dangerous!!!! 😉
I also had some pumpkin spice coffee that I bough yesterday! Adam and I both agreed that it was great. It has a mild pumpkin taste to it that was not overpowering at all. It was a refreshing change from our Sbux breakfast blend we usually drink. I think we will be drinking this pumpkin coffee everyday until it is gone.
Hi, my name is Ali and I am a pumpkin addict!
My outfit today:
Black dress (Anthropology), Gray Boots (Target).
I love that these boots are mainly flat, but have a small wedge. The color totally sold me last year when I bought them, they are super comfy too!
My favorite thing about this dress is the boat neck, that then scoops lower in the back. For some reason it makes me feel like a ballerina. Is that strange? Probably!
To add a little color I am wearing this bracelet on my right wrist (I make it a point to wear nothing on my left wrist ever- I like my engagement ring to stand alone…nothing can compete with her) .
In other news:
1. Looks like the Navy Blue Pumps are winning as the shoe of choice to go with my dress on Friday. To answer some questions that have been asked. I did wear the purple shoes to the Bridal shower and the length of the dress is to right above me knee. Question: If I wear the Navy blue, what to I wear on my legs? It is going to be chilly and we are rehearsing outside, it is an outdoor ceremony.
2. Amy’s Kitchen is running a slogan contest. After 22 years, they still don’t have a slogan. So they are running a contest for customers to come up with one for them. The winner will receive $500 worth of Amy’s products!!!! (OMG!!!) You have until 2/1/2010 to enter. Here is the entry form. I am hoping to come up with something clever. I love Amy’s and love $500 worth of free products even more!
3. I have registered to attend FitBloggin 2010. It a conference for bloggers that write about “fitness, wellness, good food and healthy lifestyle.” I am super excited to attend. It is taking place March 19-21 in Baltimore, MD. Adam and I reworked our budget a little so I would be able to attend…whatta guy 😉
The schedule looks awesome, there are so many sessions I am interested in attending. If you are a blogger or even a reader interested in fitness, wellness, good food or a healthy lifestyle. Look into it!!!
Has anyone else already looked into it? Are any of you guys going???
