Glistening

Hello! Well, I am still trying to recap for you. This week has been insane with wedding stuff and work stuff! Monday morning I got up knowing this week was going to be insane and actually felt ready for it!

Breakfast was pineapple Greek yogurt, blueberries, and Kashi GoLean Crunch. Nom, Nom, Nom!

Obvi, there was iced coffee. Unless otherwise stated…there is always iced coffee πŸ™‚

I worked feverishly the whole day. I am trying to get all my work stuff taken care of in the next few days so I don’t leave anything unfinished while on my honeymoon.Β  I used my “lunch break” to run errands which included picking up our marriage license. But- did not include falling down the stairs as City Hall while picking it up, scraping my knee and showing 14 complete strangers my undies in the process! But, somehow I managed to get that done too! I am Wonderwoman, I tell ya!!! Β  I broke for lunch around 2pm when I was so hungry I could no longer focus.

Lunch:

Along with this soup I had a few whole wheat crackers with laughing cow and some grapes.

I had never had this soup before and it was gooooood! I love anything with black beans anyhow, but it had just enough kick to it and was super filling! I recommend it.

The rest of the afternoon flew by, I couldn’t believe the day was over when it was time to go. Monday was actually the hottest day we have had so far this year. I met my friend Ashley for a quick 3.25 mile run before heading to Body Pump. We ran a super hot and sweaty 3.25 miles in 28:59. The sweat dripping into my new knee cut was not a great feeling, but I dealt with it.Β  We were glistening after! (like how I make being a sweat factory sound lady like ?!)Β  We were even more sweaty after we did an hour of Body Pump on top of the run. It was an amazing workout!!!!

After the gym I got on the train and ran some errands and then headed to my part-time job where luckily not too much work awaited me πŸ™‚ This is a slow time of year for us. After working at my part-timer I met my Adam and his brother, dad and our friend Kevin for a beer. They has just gotten back from being fitted for the suits of our wedding! What a handsome bunch with will be for sure πŸ™‚

I went to take a picture and realized, I was so nuts Monday with work I had forgotten my camera at my desk! SECOND TIME THIS MONTH!!! Bad blogger! Luckily I had the trusty iPhone πŸ™‚

After the beer we were home bound, while I showered, Adam was in charge of dinner he made mini bagel pizzas. They were tasty, and cute!

Please forgive the bad quality! The iphone is not as good as my regular camera.

Yay! Look, I am getting you all caught up! See you back here tomorrow where I plan to get everything caught up! Le Woot! (that’s French for Woot Woot!).

Ok, well I am still trying to get this bad boy up to date! I have faith it will happen at some point! I have been slammed lately- it is insane!!!

Where were we? Oh yes…Sunday! Sunday I got up at 7:00 am and was pretty exhausted. I had a banana, which managed to escape my camera, some water and I was off! I headed to meet my friend Jill, her Dad and her brother for our race. It was a special race because it was Jill’s first race and it was also her Dad’s 60th birthday! WOOT!

Jill was pretty nervous and very excited! I remember being the same way at my first race. I knew she would do well. I told her I would run with her at her pace the whole time. It helps to have someone right next to you pacing you and encouraging you during your first race.

While picking up my number I ran into Julia! I haven’t seen her in over a month and that is a long time for us. I have just been so busy! I am hoping we can get together in the next week or so, if not when I get back from my honeymoon.

At 9am the horn blew and we were off. Jill needed to run to music, which was fine, I had my phone with me so I ran with my ipod on. I prefer running and talking when I have a running partner though. It was a hot morning, but we were troppers. I felt great the whole race. We ended up running it is 40:58! It was an excellent time for Jill, she was pleased! We stopped and walked three time because Jill got a few bad cramps. We also had to dodge a dead bird, rat and snake on the route…talk about gross! I am very proud of Jill for finishing! Great Job, girlie!

Jill’s dad ran the race is 36 minutes – not bad for 60! Her speedy brother Danny did it is 22 minutes!

Family picture:

After the race I grabbed an apple and half of a bagel.

We headed back to Jill’s house, on the way we stopped and got iced coffees. I got a grande skinny vanilla latte. Not having coffee started to give me a headache…I am addicted!

Jill and I washed out faces and then I headed into downtown to pick up Jacqui! Jacqui was in town looking into some programs at Tufts! I was excited to see her since it had been about 4 months since I had seen her last πŸ™‚ Once Jill and I picked up Jacqui we headed to Sound Bites to meet Fiteralla and Kendra. They are both Boston Bloggers that I have never met. It was very nice to meet both of them. Oh wait and did I mention Whit was there?! HAHAHAHA! YUP! πŸ™‚ I love that girl! I was sooooo excited to see her. She was in town visiting too πŸ™‚

Sounds Bites is one of my favorite places for Brunch EVER!!! I started off with a little pumpkin coffee and a GIANT Smart Water.

For my meal I got the banana walnut whole wheat pancakes.

Jill and I also split some smaller sides of egg whites, veggie sausage and homefries.

I ate about 1 and 1/2 pancakes and most of the sides. Eyes = bigger than tummy. We sat and chatted for about two hours πŸ™‚ It was so fun! I was glad to meet Kendra and JacquiΒ  and soooooo happy to see Whit and Jacqui again πŸ™‚

After Brunch, I hung out with Jill and little more before heading home to get ready to meet with the organist at my church. The meeting went well, I pretty much knew what I wanted. He played all different songs for me, the Bridal and Wedding March gave me the chills and got me super excited for the big day!!!!!

After the meeting I headed out to dinner with my future-in-laws for Fathers Day- a week later πŸ™‚ We went to the Prince Spaghetti House.Β  Not going to lie, the healthy options here are few and far between (ok- non existent!). When I go, I just have to eat what I like and not think about getting something healthy because there is no way around it. I started off with a salad from the salad bar.

Lettuce, bean salad and cucumbers. For my meal I ordered my favorite thing ever! Eggplant parm!

I ate about half, the potion was huge. Of course I saved room for my first soft serve of the summer. πŸ™‚

Sunday night was spent looking at honeymoon stuff and spending time with Adam before the rat race of this week began…

Ok, now I just need to update you on Monday- Today…we are almost there. HOLD ON!

Jill Does Lobster!

Hello, hello! I am still trying to get this bloggy up to date! I have been so busy lately that it has been difficult, but let’s jump right in shall we?

Saturday I slept in, like really, really late! My body was exhausted and I really needed the rest. I slept in so late that when I woke up it was far too late for breakfast. So, I had lunch! I had two pieces of leftover pizza from the night before.

Is it just me or is pizza soooooo much better the next day if you heat it up in the oven? Yum Yum!

Around 6pm Adam Jill and I headed to the yacht club Adam’s parents belong to for their annualΒ  Lobster and Chicken Dinner.Β  You get 1/2 a roasted chicken, a baked potato, salad and 2 pounds of lobster.Β  It is a pretty good deal. It was my first lobster of the summer!!!

The meal started off with salad, I actually had two bowls…I was really craving veggies:

Look at these little cuties:

They are actually quite frightening looking, now that I look back on it!

Jill had never had lobster so I cracked her’s and got the meat out for her…she was a little shocked at how messy it got (and by shocked I mean totally grossed out!). Eating Lobster is hard work πŸ˜‰

Jill took her first bite ever of lobster and…..

She liked it!!! YAY!

Here is plate number two:

Clearly this is an intense amount of food!!! I had the claws of both my lobsters (claw meat is the best!) and the tail of one of them. I also had a few bites of chicken and half of the baked potato with sour cream. My meal could have fed three of me πŸ™‚ I drank water the whole night, I was dehydrated from the beer the night before and wanted to make sure I was hydrated and ready for our race the next morning! It was a hot one!!!

Stay tuned for Sunday and Monday recaps!!Β  πŸ™‚

Ok, after my last post I spent 6 hours laying out in the sun in my backyard writing out my thank you notes from my wedding shower. It literally took me 6 hours to write them because I wanted to make sure I personalized them and let my guests know how grateful we were for their gifts! We have very generous families and friends!!! I ended up writing 68 in total!! That’s a lot of notes!

Around 1:30 pm, I broke for lunch. I had organic turkey, mustard and pickles on sprouted wheat bread with a giant fruit salad. Nom, Nom, Nom!

I ate most of the fruit and about 2/3 of the sandwich. I filled up on the fruit, it was just so ripe and tasty-what can I say?!

Once I finished the Thank You’s I had earned myself some beer and pizza. I was so relieved to have them done. They seemed like such a huge task and it felt great to have it done. I also felt great to let our friends and family know how much we appreciate them!

Adam, our friend Jill and I went out on a triple date to Pizzaeria Regina.Β  We shared a few pitchers of beer and an appetizer of eggplant rollitni. Yum!

I had a small piece of the eggplant it was delicious!

Morning! I hope all of you had a great night and morning! I sure did! Since I got into work so early yesterday, I got out at 4:15!!! I walked home and made it home just before the storm hit, perfect timing. When I arrived home, I had an ice cold beer. It was a Michalob Ultra Cactus Lime….so summery!

Adam had to be back to work at 6pm, so I made us a quick dinner. I made some fresh whole wheat raviolis with organic sauce and Β tasty summer salad. The salad was baby spinach, watermelon and feta topped with balsamic dressing. It was very simple yet very flavorful. The sweet from the watermelon and the salty from the feta made the salad so delicious! Adam was skeptical at first, but ended up really liking it.

It was a delicious light summer meal! I spent the rest of the evening hanging out with my friend Jill, we had a few Raspberry and Lime Mich Ultras, I am loving these beers right now, so refreshing! We were so excited to watch the premiere of BostonMed. While watching we snacked on some hot blue corn chips and hot salsa.

The show was great! It was interesting and exciting. It was also super emotional- I cried throughout the whole thing! I am excited to watch it next week. If you missed it, I would try to check it out next week if you can. It is really good!

Last night once Jill left, I got ready for bed and passed out. Being up since 5:15 am make me exhausted. This morning I slept in until 9am. I spent a little while checking my e-mail and cleaning up a little. Around 10 am, I put on the coffee and made some breakfast. I was craving french toast. I used two egg whites, a little cinnamon, organic fat free milk and vanilla extract and dipped two pieces of whole wheat bread in it and browned them on either side. I topped when with a little natural maple syrup, blueberries, strawberries and cinnamon. On the side I had some coffee with agave nectar and creamer.

I don’t have any big plans today, I am going to get in a run, pick up our marriage license do Body Pump this evening. I am hoping to find some other fun things to do since it is so nice out! We shall see πŸ™‚

Don’t forget to to enter my Tea giveaway!!!

5 Favorite Things

Hello everyone! How are you guys doing? I am well! Today is my Friday, so that is exciting news! πŸ™‚ This week has been so busy I am ready to wrind down a little bit, for sure!

Yesterday after work, I headed to my part-time job for a meeting. When I got there I realized the AC was not on and it was about 90 degrees. It was a miserable sweaty hour and 20 minutes that I was there. In that time I somehow managed to loose my keys, I think the heat made me delirious! By the time I left there and got home it was 7:30 pm. After being a power house of productivity and having a very long day, a run seemed unappealing! So I didn’t go.

I went to talk to my mom about my wedding stuff and pick up my little pup. My mom told me earlier on the phone that she had a surprise for me and I was eager and excited to see that it was. When I got there, she surprised me with the most adorable Tory Burch flats!!!Here is a picture of the exact ones:I LOVE THEM!!!!!

Dinner needed to be something quick, I was so hungry! When I went to take picture I realized I left my camera at work 😦 FAIL! But I made do with the iphone, not the best quality, but at least you get some pictures right? I took this bad boy out of the freezer and heated it up πŸ™‚

While it was cooking I steamed some edamame.

I really, really love eating edamame out of the pod! Isn’t it so fun?!

I headed to bed early this last night because I had a 5:15 am wake up call!I was wiped out from a busy day and passed right out. I slept like a baby and actually felt great when the alarm went off! I hopped out of bed, put on my workout clothes and headed to Healthworks Beach Body Bootcamp. While on my way there I snacked on a banana.

Like Oscar’s bed in the background that he NEVER sleeps in? πŸ˜‰

Bootcamp was fun today! There were a lot of different drills, sprints and TONS of ab work, which felt great. It was hot and muggy, but I still felt fantastic. I was a sweaty, dirty mess after and hopped right into the shower and got ready for work. On the way into work,Β  I stopped at Starbucks and got a turkey bacon, egg white sandwich on a whole wheat English muffin.

I also had a grande skinny vanilla latte (hello, yummy!), but I deleted the phone picture by accident. It was probably not great anyhow!

I got to work by 7:30 am this morning! HOLY COW! I think this is the earliest I have ever been at work. It was nice to be alone for a while! I got a lot done! Around 10 am I broke into my snack. I had some leftover edamame from last night! It was fun to eat πŸ™‚

Clearly, by this point I was reunited with my camera!

Lunch came around 12pm while working! I had a leftover turkey burger from Tuesday night’s dinner with laughing cow cheese on whole wheat bun with some salad.

It hit the spot!

Today’s Outfit:

My hair looks like a hot mess in this picture…sorry! The dress is from Arden B and the silver sandals are Steve Madden.

Prodcutive 24 hours!

Hello! Well, I have been so productive in the last 24 hours it is insane. What did I do you ask? I have:

  • completely crossed all the BIG work to-do’s off my list
  • sent my readers their readings (except for the prayers of the faithful which I need to write)
  • created all my wedding tables
  • organized the tables
  • made an appointment for my make up trail
  • made an appointment for my FINAL dress fitting
  • sent many, many wedding related e-mails
  • Created final time line and sent to all vendors
  • Planned almost all of ceremony (except some music…meeting with the organist Sunday to work that out)
  • Wrote up all the wording for our ceremony program
  • Worked with Wicked Bride for all things paper πŸ™‚

I am like a little machine! πŸ™‚ I am feeling relieved to get a lot of this stuff done!

Last night, I arrived home from work to find Adam had completely cooked dinner. Nothing like coming home to a delicious, home made, healthy meal awaiting you. Adam made us turkey cheese burgers on grilled whole wheat buns with sweet potato fries. I topped my burger with mustard and pickles and had some organic ketchup on the side for some fry dipping πŸ™‚

Once dinner was over it was down to business! Adam and I along with our parents got together at my mom and dad’s to do the dreaded seated plan…dum da dum dum dum!!! I have heard tales of the horror of this task from many a bride! I know we were all dreading it but it needed to be done. However, it was actually a fairly stress-free experience, if you can believe it! We were all calm and got the job done! We make a good team πŸ™‚ In about an hour and a half everyone was seated and we were all still friends πŸ˜‰

I celebrated with a new chocolate bar:

I had two squares. I have never had the chili chocolate, but have heard good things. It was ok, I did enjoy the little spicy kick. But, it cannot hold a flame to the sea salt one.

Breakfast this morning was also awesome! I had two whole wheat waffles topped with some vanilla greek yogurt, berries and some sliced almonds. Coffee as well!

This is one of my favorite summer breakfasts. I used to eat them with with a fork and knife. But, now I just eat them with my hands and embrace the mess. πŸ™‚

I got A LOT done at work today and worked through lunch. Lunch was a giant salad with tons of veggies and left over chicken, brown rice, quinoa and grilled veggies. It was filling and delicious, I loved all the flavors.

I have been so hungry all week and today was no exception. I had two small afternoon snacks. First was a kids z bar- chocolate chip. My fav!

Second was a mall container of melon:

Today’s Outfit:

All TJ Maxx and the sandals are Kate Spade πŸ™‚ I heart them!

Well, I have a few things to finish up here before heading to my part-time job to done some work. See you all later on πŸ™‚
