Oh man, my wedding was awesome! The night before my wedding I checked into my hotel room with my two close friends/bridesmaids Jill and Belle. We had some girl time and chatted before drugging ourselves with Advil PM to get some sleep. I was a little excited about my upcoming wedding that next afternoon and like any mature 27 year old bride-to-be would do I jumped on the bed yelling, “I AM GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!” Jill snapped this picture with her cellphone camera.

We were at the salon at 8am to get ready for the day, hair and makeup all around!

It was fun to spend the morning with the girls and my mom πŸ™‚ Once we were all gorgeous and dolled up we headed to the reception sight to get ready. While helping the girls get dressed it hit me that I was getting married that day and I got a little overwhelmed with emotion, but kept it together since my makeup was perfect!I didn’t want running mascara.

The weather was calling for downpours and since my reception was tented outside I was nervous but tried not to let it bother me. When it was time to get dressed I could not wait to put on my gown, I loved it so much.Β  I was dressed quickly and had tons of time for pictures πŸ™‚ I was actually early for my wedding and we had to have the trolley drive around the block a few times before heading in the church. Just as I was supposed to walk down the aisle, the sky opened up with rain like I had never, ever seen. It was insane. But, I just brushed it off and took my favorite walk I will ever take with my dad. The whole way down was filled with smiling familiar faces and I was super excited to see everyone- especially my handsome husband waiting at the end of the aisle!

The ceremony went perfectly, aside from the loud bangs of thunder that could be heard over and over again! I soaked up every minute. I had been waiting almost 12 years to say my vows with Adam and be his wife. Nothing made me happier!

Once we kissed and her pronounced husband and wife, we walked back down the aisle to so much applause. It was truly amazing!

Once we got to the doors, I saw that the rain had worsened! It is hard to describe how heavy and hard it was raining. I got SOAKED getting into the trolley, even though EVERY effort was made for that not to happen. It was clear our planned outdoor pictures were not going to happen and I have to admit I was bummed. My bestie May was the best Maid of Honor and worked out a bunch of alternate ideas since I was not able to think straight. Long story short- it only rained for one hour. It was the most rain the City of Boston has ever seen in a one hour period since the weather began being recorded. I KID YOU NOT! I was handed a drink and at that point decided a little rain was not going to ruin my good time!

After we took a few photos indoors, I walked to to see my soaked yet laughing guests. They were having a great time and didn’t care that there were completely drenched! The rain stopped the weather cooled off a little and the night turned out to be beautiful. Our outdoor pictures happened after all! πŸ™‚

After pictures, I entered my reception and had a very emotional and sweet first dance with my new husband to Johnny and June by Heidi Newfield.

Here is the song in case you never heard it before:

My dad and I had a great time dancing πŸ™‚ He is truly one of my best friends and I am so lucky to have such a great relationship with him. I love you FFF Dad!

I don’t have any food pictures because like most brides I barely ate anything.

We did have a surprise visit from Oscar, who wanted to congratulate his mom and dad:) My sister-in-law went and got him πŸ™‚

A great time was had by all! It was seriously a packed dance floor and bar and everyone was enjoying themselves!

This one was one of my favorites. My brother- in- law is in the foreground, but if you look in the back my Maid of Honor is on the floor, and people around her are just all over the place!

Here is a pic of my besties May and Colin! Love them!

Adam’s family members came across the country to come to our wedding and I loved seeing them! LOVE YOU GUYS!

It was amazing to have all the close friends that I grew up with in attendance. They know how much Adam and I have worked to get here and know all we have been through as a couple. It is great to have friends you have known you whole life and I love each and every one of them!

It was the best night of my life and I partied all night long!

Obviously, these are not the professional pictures. But, my amazing photographer Adriano Batti has them up on his website. Here is the link to view our photos if you are interested!

Next stop…honeymoon posts! This is going to be good, so stay tuned!

The honeymoon was amazing too, it was a once in a lifetime breathtaking trip that was humbling, a little wild at times and absolutely amazing! Ok, now it is time for pics and stories. I will do a few separate posts for you as they are easier to read and easier for me to write. It was not my intent to be blogging this late I thought I would blog from the cruise ship, but internet was insanely pricey! 😦

REHEARSAL DINNER:

We had a fantastic rehearsal dinner that included our families and wedding party. I was so busy I didn’t take many pictures, but luckily my friend Dan is a camera genius and got great shots! Thanks, Dan!!!! Looking back I was MUCH more nervous during the rehearsal than I was at my actual wedding…weird huh?

My dad” fake” giving me away πŸ™‚

Listening carefully to the priests instructions.

Groomsmen…they aren’t bad to look at either πŸ˜‰

The dinner following the Rehearsal was at Max and Dylan’s– one of my favorites! It was in the same room where Tina’s Surprise 30th was! The food was great. I did manage to snap a nice picture of my plate for you πŸ™‚

I had some salad, mac and cheese (Max and Dylan’s has the best!), a very small piece of salmon and chicken, and delicious grilled veggies!!! NOM, NOM, NOM!

The dinner was great. All of the people in the wedding party loved the gifts Adam and I got them and they deserved them- they were all fantastic and we are so lucky to have them all in ourt loves!

After the dinner we headed to the local bar and my good friend Casey who flew in from Colorado met us out! I was so excited to see her πŸ™‚

The night got a little crazy and was only a clue to the insanity that would ensue the night of our Wedding. Get it girls!!!!

Last Day!

Today is my every last day working before the wedding and let me tell you it is feeling like forever!!!!!!

Yesterday I got a ton of work done and it felt great to know I would manage to get everything done before heading out for my wedding and honeymoon.Β  Lunch was what I could scrape up at home. I am not going to the grocery store since we will barely be eating at home this week and will be gone for over two weeks after Sunday. I made a turkey sandwich with mustard and pickle on wheat and a salad with whatever veggies I could find πŸ™‚

After work I headed to a meeting at our priest. The walk from my work to the church was about 1 and 1/2 miles and it was brutal! Luckily, I had some money left on my Starbucks card Oscar gave me for Mother’s Day and I got a venti passion tea lemonade.

Perfectly refreshing! I also had a kid’s clif chocolate chip bar as an afternoon snack.

The meeting with the priest went well. I had about 30 minutes until my makeup trial and Adam suggested that we stop for an ice cold beer and I had to agree it was a great day for a beer. I had a Shipyard Summer Ale (so good!).

At 6:00 pm I met my mom and we went to my makeup trail. I LOVED IT! The makeup artist was so sweet and adorable andΒ  did exactly what I wanted! I cannot wait to see how the hair and makeup looks together on Saturday πŸ™‚

After the trail I was “all dressed up and no where to go.” So mom and I headed to Yoki for a little sushi date. Can you believe my mom has never had sushi?! I was craving it (blame the heat) and so I was excited to take her. I started with a little miso soup.

I got a yellow tail roll and a spicy tuna roll.

and my mom and I split a vegetarian roll.

Everything was delicious! My mom liked it a lot, she struggled a little with the chopsticks which made dinner very entertaining πŸ˜‰ But all in all I think she will be having sushi again soon πŸ™‚

The rest of my night was spend doing laundry so we can pack for our honeymoon tomorrow!!! (eeekkkk!!!).

This morning a combination of a super cuddly Oscar and it being my last day in the office made it hard as heck to get out of bed! But I managed, by the grace of God! Breakfast was a repeat of yesterday Total, with fat free milk, blueberries, strawberries and bananas.

Since we are limited in the grocery dept. the only portable lunch option I had was some Amy’s Pea Soup and while that is my favorite, pea soup in the middle of a heat wave is not all that appealing! So I stopped at subway and grabbed a turkey on wheat with mustard and all the veggies and some cheddar popchips!

I ate IT ALL! Yup every bite! Isn’t the heat supposed to decrease your appetite? Not mine, not today!

Today’s Outfit:

Darker than usual, huh? They must have turned the lights down?! Black sundress from the Gap and Kate Spade sandals.

Well, I got to get moving! Once I leave work I am on vacation until the 27th of July!!!!!!!! Tonight is filled with wedding meetings and errands!

See you all later on!

Heat Wave!

Hello everyone! Well, we are currently 4 days away from our wedding! I cannot believe that it is here already! It came so fast. It feels real now that Adam’s sister and nephews have arrived and family and friends will be arriving throughout this week.Β  I took the holiday weekend off from blogging to enjoy some family time. I had a lot of wedding stuff to get done too and taking pictures of my food was and writing was just not a priority. There was a lot of yummy eats and a few workouts, but you didn’t miss much.

Yesterday, Adam and I slept in. We had a lot of fun on the 4th and actually managed to get ourselves to four parties!!! We spent time with both our families and some friends -it was fantastic! The 4th was my Pa’s birthday by the way!!!! πŸ™‚

We slept in pretty late and it felt fantastic!!! When we got up we decided to take Oscar for a long walk to get some lunch at Sorelle’s.Β  We are in the middle of a heatwave in Boston right now, but I didn’t think it was that hot out…

I got a tuna sandwich. It was on mutligrain bread with garlic mayo, lettuce and red peppers. It was awesome, I asked for it sans mayo but the guy behind the counter assured me that the mayo “made the sandwich” and it would be a bad idea. He was right!!!! It was so good with the mayo.

On the side I had some salt and vinegar chips and a black tea with lemon.

After lunch we walked around the Navy Yard a little.

On our way home Oscar got so tired and hot that he refused to walk. First, he tried to get into a random car because he figured we could use a ride home. Then, he flat out refused to move, he would not budge an inch. So, he was carried home…he is such a drama king!!!!

I spent the afternoon taking care of some wedding tasks before heading to the gym for a 6:30 Body Pump class. For a pre-workout snack, I had a kids clif bar.

Body Pump was great, I left feeling strong and like a buff bride πŸ™‚ Ashley and I decided to go and grab some dinner after the gym. It was hot as heck, so we wanted something light and cool. Enter: SUSHI!!!! Oh man! Is sushi not the best summer meal?!

We both drank water (we had had our fair share of adult beverages this weekend!) and shared some steamed edamame.

We shared a few rolls.Β  All the sushi was amazing and hit the spot! Nom, nom, nom! Not going to lie, as I sit here writing this I am craving it again!!! I get on sushi kicks when I have it I just want more and more…it is kind of bad…

After dinner we went our separate ways. I ran a few errands and stopped at my part-time job to write out instructions for my dad who will be taking over for me while I am on my honeymoon πŸ™‚ Thanks, Daddy!

I slept like a baby last night! I was scared that as the wedding got closer I would not be able to sleep, but that has not really been the case! When The alarm went off at 6am for my morning run, I felt rested and ready. I had initially planned on running 5 miles, but when I got outside and it was humid and 85 degrees at 6am I knew that was not going to happen, nor was it smart. Today is supposed to be the worst day of the heatwave. I had a deal with myself that if I ran at a really, really good pace I only had to do 2.5 miles. I ran those 2.5 in 23:31 which is a great pace for me for that kind of heat. I was a sweaty beast after the run and hopped right in a semi-cold shower.

When I got out I was craving cereal and milk. I wanted a nice cool breakfast. I have 1 cup of Total, 1 cup of fat free milk with blueberries, strawberries and a banana πŸ™‚ Perfect!

I was going to walk into work this morning, but on the way I bumped into my friend Mike’s parents who were headed that way anyways and gave me a ride! It was super sweet of them! Mike is currently driving up from NC for our wedding and is expected to arrive today! I am so excited to see him! I have been friends with Mike since I was 2 years old πŸ™‚ My friend Casey also arrives today from Colorado! πŸ™‚

Once I got to work, I popped down the street and got a vanilla iced coffee with cream.

Today’s Outfit:

Sundress from Forever 21. Trying to stay cool! πŸ™‚

All Caught Up!

Hello! I am going to catch you up in this post, so get ready for a long one!Β  Well, Tuesday morning I got up and made a quick breakfast and was out the door. I slept in a little and was in a rush.

Since I forgot my camera at work on Monday, I still had to use the iPhone. 😦 Breakfast was a mini whole wheat bagel with a little cream cheese, 2 hard boiled egg whites and some fruit salad. I love little platters like this, they are fun πŸ™‚

Sorry about the weird angles. πŸ™‚

Luckily, Tuesday I was reunited with my camera…I missed it and was sick of ugly food picks.Β  I worked all day on a project at work, it made the time fly by, but I was super busy! I broke for lunch around 2pm. I had a black bean burger with American cheese on a whole wheat bun and a small spinach salad with carrots and peppers and a little ginger dressing.

After work I grabbed and ice coffee for the walk home.

Once I got home, I made myself a super quick dinner since I had my FINAL DRESS FITTING! I made a tuna melt. I mixed a small can of tuna, plain greek yogurt and chopped dill pickles together put it on two slices of whole wheat bread and added a slice of American cheese and grilled it on the Forman for a few minutes. On the side I had a mini plum and some kettle baked chips. It was so yummy, the pickles totally made it!

Once I chowed down, my mom and I were off to my fitting. I was so nervous and also really excited to see the final product, since my dress had to be taken in a lot. Verdict: OH MY GOD! I am in love! I really, really love how it came out! πŸ™‚ Sigh of relief!

After the fitting, I was on cloud 9, it was late and I headed to bed!!! I can’t wait to pick the dress up next Friday and even better wear it next Saturday! πŸ™‚

Tuesday night I fell asleep so easily, but then woke up- wide awake about an hour later…ugh! I tossed and turned for a while and then was afraid I would wake up poor Adam. So I got up and made some tea.

I read my book and watched a little TV before falling back to sleep around 4am…lovely!

Needless to say, I was so tired yesterday morning when I got up at 6:30. I had zero energy, but I knew if I just kept moving it would get better. Breakfast was an Amy’s breakfast burrito and a nectarine! It was super ripe and delicious- nectarines are underrated. πŸ™‚

Yum! Oh- and again, needless to say…ice coffee!

I didn’t bring a lunch since we needed a trip to the store badly! So I popped into Subway and got a turkey on 9-grain, no cheese, and alllll the veggies. I always get the strangest look when they ask me what veggies I want and I say, “All of them!” Oh well, I love veggies!

After work last night I had a lovely walk home with my friend Melissa . We both needed to make a quick pit stop at the grocery store.Β  Once I got home I had a quick snack of a few ounces of cottage cheese and then headed out for a run πŸ™‚

I had a FANTASTIC run! I am fast again, people! I feel like I have been in slow motion since my half marathon! I did 5 miles in 45 minutes and felt amazing! After the run I hopped in the shower and made dinner. I had some sweet potato fries, broccoli and some teriyaki grilled chicken! It was sooo good!

I spent the evening catching up with bestie May and sipping chamomile tea. I wanted to make sure I slept!!

I slept all right! Yikes, I took forever to get out of bed and that resulted in a rushed morning! I made it to work on time though! Breakfast had to be something portable that I could eat while walking around the house! I made a blueberry and yogurt waffle sandwich!

And….coffee!

I am still pulling along at work getting things done so I can RELAX on my honeymoon! Lunch was eaten at 12 sharp…I was hungry. I had a very, very delicious salad! It had: romaine, tomatoes,Β  cucumbers, carrots, chickpeas, feta, artichokes and avocado. HOLY YUM!

After lunch I took a walk with some co-workers and got some carrot juice! So refreshing and tasty!

Well there you have it folks! You are all caught up! What a relief! I will see you all later on tonight πŸ™‚
