Oh man, my wedding was awesome! The night before my wedding I checked into my hotel room with my two close friends/bridesmaids Jill and Belle. We had some girl time and chatted before drugging ourselves with Advil PM to get some sleep. I was a little excited about my upcoming wedding that next afternoon and like any mature 27 year old bride-to-be would do I jumped on the bed yelling, “I AM GETTING MARRIED TOMORROW!!!!” Jill snapped this picture with her cellphone camera.
We were at the salon at 8am to get ready for the day, hair and makeup all around!
It was fun to spend the morning with the girls and my mom 🙂 Once we were all gorgeous and dolled up we headed to the reception sight to get ready. While helping the girls get dressed it hit me that I was getting married that day and I got a little overwhelmed with emotion, but kept it together since my makeup was perfect!I didn’t want running mascara.
The weather was calling for downpours and since my reception was tented outside I was nervous but tried not to let it bother me. When it was time to get dressed I could not wait to put on my gown, I loved it so much. I was dressed quickly and had tons of time for pictures 🙂 I was actually early for my wedding and we had to have the trolley drive around the block a few times before heading in the church. Just as I was supposed to walk down the aisle, the sky opened up with rain like I had never, ever seen. It was insane. But, I just brushed it off and took my favorite walk I will ever take with my dad. The whole way down was filled with smiling familiar faces and I was super excited to see everyone- especially my handsome husband waiting at the end of the aisle!
The ceremony went perfectly, aside from the loud bangs of thunder that could be heard over and over again! I soaked up every minute. I had been waiting almost 12 years to say my vows with Adam and be his wife. Nothing made me happier!
Once we kissed and her pronounced husband and wife, we walked back down the aisle to so much applause. It was truly amazing!
Once we got to the doors, I saw that the rain had worsened! It is hard to describe how heavy and hard it was raining. I got SOAKED getting into the trolley, even though EVERY effort was made for that not to happen. It was clear our planned outdoor pictures were not going to happen and I have to admit I was bummed. My bestie May was the best Maid of Honor and worked out a bunch of alternate ideas since I was not able to think straight. Long story short- it only rained for one hour. It was the most rain the City of Boston has ever seen in a one hour period since the weather began being recorded. I KID YOU NOT! I was handed a drink and at that point decided a little rain was not going to ruin my good time!
After we took a few photos indoors, I walked to to see my soaked yet laughing guests. They were having a great time and didn’t care that there were completely drenched! The rain stopped the weather cooled off a little and the night turned out to be beautiful. Our outdoor pictures happened after all! 🙂
After pictures, I entered my reception and had a very emotional and sweet first dance with my new husband to Johnny and June by Heidi Newfield.
Here is the song in case you never heard it before:
My dad and I had a great time dancing 🙂 He is truly one of my best friends and I am so lucky to have such a great relationship with him. I love you FFF Dad!
I don’t have any food pictures because like most brides I barely ate anything.
We did have a surprise visit from Oscar, who wanted to congratulate his mom and dad:) My sister-in-law went and got him 🙂
A great time was had by all! It was seriously a packed dance floor and bar and everyone was enjoying themselves!
This one was one of my favorites. My brother- in- law is in the foreground, but if you look in the back my Maid of Honor is on the floor, and people around her are just all over the place!
Here is a pic of my besties May and Colin! Love them!
Adam’s family members came across the country to come to our wedding and I loved seeing them! LOVE YOU GUYS!
It was amazing to have all the close friends that I grew up with in attendance. They know how much Adam and I have worked to get here and know all we have been through as a couple. It is great to have friends you have known you whole life and I love each and every one of them!
It was the best night of my life and I partied all night long!
Next stop…honeymoon posts! This is going to be good, so stay tuned!
