Self-Esteem Inventory.

Hey everyone! Well, my snow storm beers last night are making me feel a little less than 100% today. I didn’t drink that much, but I have a little headache that has just been a pain in the butt all day 😦

Lunch was leftovers from dinner on Tuesday night. A turkey burger on a whole wheat sandwich thin, topped with mustard and laughing cow cheese with a side salad.

I had an afternoon snack of grapes and Siggi’s Acai Yogurt!

This flavor is by far my favorite! It has a sweet berry flavor and again, no fruit on the bottom 🙂

This afternoon, I headed downstairs to the office of the the Education and Human Services Department to get a psychological test for a paper I need to write for one of my classes. I love going to school where I work it makes things so much simpler! The professor told us to pick a test would be interested in so we could really learn about it and enjoy writing the paper.  Care to take a stab at which kind of test I picked?

Yup, a Self-Esteem Inventory. Self-esteem is a topic that is so interesting to me 🙂 While perusing the different tests, I sipped a coffee.

Well, I got to get a few more things done here before heading to class. I am taking a workout rest day today and have 2 booty kicking workouts in mind for the next two days. You are going to have to stick around to see what I have planned!!!

Frustrations Over

Hey everyone! Hope your afternoon is turning out okay, mine is going well. I actually had the opportunity to go down and talk to my professor about that assignment from last night that I could not get to work and for super frustrated with. He helped me it, it was a little confusing at first, but I think I have it now 🙂

Lunch came at noon while I was working, I was on a roll so I decided to work and eat. I got a lot done today again 🙂 Lunch was left over pizza from last night and a side salad.

Pizza:

Salad:

Just as yummy as it was yesterday!

Well, I am going to finish up here, I am using my “lunch hour” at the end of my day to get in a quick run and shower before heading to class.

Assignment Frustrations.

Well, I had a very productive night. The reason:

After work I stopped at Starbucks for a tall skinny cinnamon dolce pick me up 🙂 I am pretty sure it helped me power through the work I had to do at my part-time job. I met with a couple that is thinking about getting married at our function hall, then returned some phone calls and did some paperwork. After working, I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some whole wheat pizza dough and some Sprite for Adam. I don’t really the whole soda thing, but Adam cannot live without his Sprite! When I got home, I took a quick shower and then Adam and I made dinner. PIZZA…what a suprise!!!!!

My side was whole wheat dough, marinara sauce, spinach, reduced fat mozzarella, tomatoes, red peppers and some spreadable goat cheese. BTW: working with spreadable goat cheese when you are not spreading it is difficult. Don’t try this at home 😉 This was the best pizza we have made in a while and that is saying a lot!!! I had two pieces with a side salad (spring mix, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers and peppers topped with a light italian dressing). I am very happy to report that there are leftovers 🙂

YUMMY, YUMMY PIZZA!

I think the steam coming from it fogged the picture…I love my food super hot! After dinner, Adam did the dishes (love him!) and I started on homework and reading for school. I had the hardest time figuring out this one thing we had to to do on a website. It was super frustrating for me. I consider myself to be pretty computer savy, after all, I do write thins blog everyday, right? I eventually e-mailed my professor after 45 minutes of getting no where. I got the rest of my work done though, so that is good. But, I am still a little annoyed with that website! I very much dislike getting frustrated with an assignment that I can’t figure out.

I am currently drinking some chamomile tea and blogging from my bed. Can you tell the caffeine from earlier had worn off?? 😉

Make sure to check in on tomorrow breakfast post for a Vantastic giveaway and a FANNEtastic interview!!! 😉

Morning! Sorry if you missed me last night. At 9:30 pm I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, so I just went to bed! Let me tell you about my night. Around 3:30 pm while getting through some work, I snacked on the last of the cantaloupe I bought this week. I just realized I managed to eat a whole cantaloupe in three days!!! What can I say, this girl loves fruit!

At 4pm I headed down to the gym at work for a run. I planned on doing 5 miles, but that didn’t end up happening. Around mile 2 my stomach started cramping and I knew I had to um…go use the restroom (TMI? I think these “Ask Me Anything” questions are making me feel a little too open!). I tried to ignore it, but by mile 2.5 I knew that 5 miles were not happening, I made a deal that I would run 3. Once I hit mile 3, I jumped off the treadmill and went to the bathroom. I felt better. While walking back into the gym I noticed how tight my legs left. I used the extra time I had already planned to run for a nice long stretch. It felt great to get the stretch in! The running and Body Pump this week has taken a toll on my hamstrings and they were begging for a good stretch.

After the run and stretch, I took a quick shower then jumped on the bus and headed home. Once I got home, I started working on some stuff for my part-time job. I was really hungry, fruit goes not hold me over when I am running. I snacked on a pretzel rod and a clementine.

After the work was done, I started dinner. Adam was home for dinner tonight! That makes twice this week that we ate dinner together 🙂 I like that a lot! I made some whole wheat tortillini with marinara sauce and side salads. I beefed my pasta up with some extra veggies, steamed zucchini and artichoke hearts. I also had a small glass of red wine.

The spend the rest of then evening watching TV with my two favorite boys before heading to bed at 9:30 pm. Right before bed, I had some chamomile tea and….it totally helped me sleep well again last night. Although I did have an awful dream that all my teeth fell out!

I actually looked up what dreams about teeth falling out means and I got a few interpretations:

  1. Being self-conscious about your physical appearance
  2. Worrying about being embarrassed in a certain situation
  3. Feelings of powerlessness
  4. Fear of failure
  5. Financial worries

Not sure I really buy any of them. Do you ever look up what your dreams “mean”?  Do you believe in “Dream Meanings” or think it is all junk?

I actually took today off to get some things done. Breakfast was banana oats:

  • 1/2 of a banana
  • 1/2 a cup of oats
  • 1/2 a cup of water
  • 1/2 a cup of almond milk

Toppings:

  • Blueberries
  • Organic unsweetened coconut
  • Barney Butter

Ask Me Anything Questions:

Q: Transitioning from a private person to a public person can be a tough and crazy experience. Do you (or Adam) ever get worried with posting private photos and/or information online?

A: Good Question! I get this question a lot from friends and family. I keep a lot of my life private still even though it seems like it is all out there for the world to see. I am very careful with the personal information I post online and try to make sure that I keep certain things to myself. So, sometimes I get a little nervous about it, but I always make sure that I don’t post anything that I wouldn’t be okay with ANYONE seeing.

Well, I am off to get some things done. Have a great Thursday!

Hey you guys! I have had a busy day! After blogging I took a look around and realized my apt needed some cleaning. It wasn’t dirty, just messy. So I cleaned until about noon. At 12:00, I had a quick and messy lunch. I had a whole wheat wrap with feta, tabouli, salsa, and spicy hummus with a side of BBQ Popchips.

After lunch I headed to the gym and did a 5 mile run in 46 minutes. After the run I walked for 5 minutes at a 10 incline, just to spice it up. It was HARD!!!

As you all know, I always talk about how great running is an how much I love it, but there is a less than glamorous side to it.

Sports Bra Burn:

Time to invest in some Body Glide.

And….runner’s calluses.

There are actually other gross foot things that I certain you guys aren’t wanting to see. I am pretty sure these are all things a little Body Glide can help. After my workout, I showered and headed to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods and Market Basket groceries.

Today’s Outfit:

Jeans (GAP), Sneakers (PUMA), Gray Thermal (AE), White Cami (H&M).

Before heading into TJ’s, I grabbed a tall skinny cinnamon dolce latte.

My deal of the day was I got $37.00 worth of groceries for $4.97 at Whole Foods! Thanks coupons!!!!!!!

After unloading the groceries, cutting up the fruits and veggies for the week, washing dishes and doing laundry, I started some work for my part-time job. I was interrupted by a phone call with GREAT NEWS! It’s not my news, it is really someone else’s so I am not going to share it on here for a while. I want to give that person enough time to tell everyone they are close too, and I don’t want anyone finding out that person’s news on my blog, it is theirs to tell. But it is the best news I have heard in a long time. 🙂 I am thrilled!!!!!

Dinner with my handsome fiance started with a glass of red wine and a fresh salad.

Colorful! I only drank half of that glass of wine.

Dinner was homemade turkey burgers. We mixed lean turkey breast with egg whites, whole wheat bread crumbs and garlic powder and grilled them on the Forman. We ate the on whole wheat Arnold’s thins. I topped mine with cheddar cheese and mustard. We had some baked sweet potato fries on the side with organic ketchup for dipping.

It was awesome!!!! I spent the rest of the evening watching the Grammy’s and getting ready for my day tomorrow. FYI: packing tape is a great substitute if you don’t have a lint roller 😉

Well, I have an early morning, so I got to get to bed. I am going to bed with a big smile on my face tonight 🙂 See you in the morning bloggy friends!!!!!

Morning!!! Well, can you believe Humpday is upon us already? I feel like since the new year arrived the weeks have seriously been flying by! Last night while in class, I sipped on a grande cinnamon dolce latte to get me through hitting that energy wall.

Class was fine, it actually went by really fast for me. After class, I headed to my part time job to meet two customers that both stood me up…fantastic! This happens to me A LOT, people say they are going to meet me to drop off a deposit or to view the halls and never come. It is a little frustrating because I raced out of class, had to pack dinner the night before so I would be able to eat ect, and all or nothing. I actually only HAVE to be in the office one night a week to get paperwork done and sort through mail. The other nights of the week, I do a lot of  work from home as it is all correspondence through phone and e-mail. But, most weeks I am there about 3 nights a showing the hall to people or meeting them to discuss details.

While waiting for the customers and responding to e-mails, I ate the dinner I had packed.

It was an Ezekiel tortilla with mustard, lettuce and turkey with a side salad that had tabouli, reduced fat feta, and tomatoes topped with Italian dressing.

After getting a few things done at my part-time job and realizing I was stood up, I headed to May’s to watch the Pregnancy Pact movie. The movie was just ok, I mean it was a Lifetime movie, so it wasn’t the greatest. The whole story is something that really interests me as someone in school to become a Guidance Counselor. I had a small handful of popcorn while watching it, but forgot to take a picture. I got home around 10:30 and could not keep my eyes open, so no blogging…sorry guys.

This morning, I woke up craving a breakfast burrito. This is becoming one of my new favorite to-go breakfasts since it is so fast, easy and yummy. To save time I added to liquid eggswhites to a bowl and microwaved it for 1 minute and 45 seconds. Perfect!

I added the eggs, some reduced fat cheddar, veggie sausage, hot salsa and spinach to an Ezekiel tortilla and had some coffee along with it. Great breakfast!

Have you guys noticed I am on a huge Ezekiel tortilla kick? My last two meals have included one and…SPOILER ALERT…so does my lunch!

I am also on a brown kick…weird.

For the past few days, I have been wearing brown.  Brown and orange geometric dress (Forver 21), white cami (Forever 21), brown knee high riding boots (TJ Maxx), brown tights (Target).

Here is a close up of the geometric print. I am really into geometric prints, I love bright colors and really busy patterns.

I guess I am on stuck on a food and fashion kick with the Ezekiel tortillas and and brown outfits. And…let’s be honest I have been on a certain fitness kick since I loaded my very first Body Pump bar. Do you get on kicks were you are focused on one kind of food, one fashion trend, or one workout?

In Other News:

1. Self Love Tip of the Day: Lean on Your Friends: Are you the type of person  that wants to do everything for yourself and can’t admit when you need help? ::points to self:: Swallowing your pride and asking friends and family for help and support can really make a difference; after all you would TOTALLY be there for them if they needed you right? This is something I am working on. I never ask for help when I really need it and am always convinced I can take on and juggle anything. I honestly believe I am Superwoman (and in some senses I am!  What you didn’t know I could pass through solid objects? …kidding).

Sometimes, I can’t do everything myself and need to ask for help, but feel badly being a burden, so I don’t. I am going to try and make this a new goal.

2. I tried a new Shampoo and Conditioner this morning that I am in love with and thought I would share with you guys!

I have been using Organix brand shampoo and conditioner for a really long time. The other day when my usual Coconut Milk one was not available at the store I was at, I grabbed the Teatree Mint one instead. I used it for the first time and I looove it! First, I loved the smell. It smelt so clean and reminded me of a spa (always a good thing!). Second, it made my hair so soft and shiny, plus since it is a hydrating shampoo I have no static today! YAY! Just thought I would share!

I will admit it…

Hey everyone! How was your day? Mine was good!!! Before heading to class I stopped at starbucks with two co-workers and got a grande skinny cinnamon dolce latte. My co-worker Jill made it her treat, it was very sweet of her to buy me my much needed class coffee! Thanks, Jill!!!

I also snacked on a a crunchy bar too! Gah, I love these.

My class was really good. I have never had this professor before, it is her first semester teaching in my program. The class looks like it will be interesting, we will see how I like it.

When I got home, the first thing I did was search for thumb drive. THANK GOD it has been located. It has all my school work for my masters up until this point and I needed to make sure I had it.

Dinner was a big salad with a side of Food Should Taste Good potato and chive chips. YUMMY!

The salad had: spring mix, tomatoes, cucumbers, red bell peppers, artichoke hearts, carrots, tabouli, hummus and buffalo “chicken” salad topped with organic Italian Dressing. To make the buffalo “chicken” salad, I cooked the Quorn “chicken” cutlet following the directions then cut it up into bite sized pieces then mixed it with plain Greek yogurt and some buffalo sauce. It was tasty!

Dessert was some white chocolate buttons, some mini peanut butter cups and a cup of chamomile tea. Perfect little dessert!

Well, I am off to watch the season finale of Jersey Shore and the Jersey Shore Reunion with my besties May and Colin. I will admit it, I love that show!

Need To Be the Early Bird!

Hey, Good Afternoon! I hope your Tuesday is going well, mine is! I had planned on getting in a quick run at lunchtime, but it did not end up working out, I just had too much to do and ended up working through lunch 😦 No bueno! I actually have not worked out since Saturday, which is a long time for me. To tell you the truth, mentally, I am not very happy about it, but physically, my body REALLY welcomed the rest. I think it may have been just what I needed! See, sometimes my busy life works for me rather than against me 😉

Well, around 11:00 am I snacked on a Kashi dark mocha almond bar.

Eh, it was just alright! I will be finishing the box, but not sure I will be buying another one. Not my favorite.

Lunch was eaten at about 1:30 pm. I had a can of Amy’s Lentil Soup.

and a side salad with spring mix, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, and orange bell peppers with a light balsamic dressing.

All together:

Well, the plans for the rest of the day are:

  • Finish up at work
  • Class 4:30-7:10 (hopefully we will get out early since it is the first day)
  • Work at my part-time job
  • Trip to the grocery store
  • Blog
  • Bed

I have also come to the realization today, that I just need to start getting up earlier! You know what they say about the early bird, right?! This girl loves her sleep, but honestly…there is just no way around it.

What time do you get up on weekdays? What are your tricks or tips to getting your butt out of bed on time? I need so good help and advice on this one!

Relaxing Friday Night!

Hey everyone! How was your Friday? Mine was great! After work, I suited up and hit the pavement. Oh man, it felt great, there were still come icy spots, but nothing too bad. The one thing I didn’t bank on was all the puddles. Around mile 3.8 I stepped in a large puddle and had a wet and cold left foot the rest of the way, but I just blocked it out and kept moving. I ended up doing 6.6 miles in 1:00:29. I was a little surprised when I saw my time, because I felt like I was moving in slow motion for a lot of the run. I was slower than normal for sure, but still kept up an decent pace.

Splits:

Mile 1- 9:11

Mile 2- 8:57

Mile 3- 8:51

Mile 4- 9:13

Mile 5- 9:20

Mile 6- 9:21

the last .6 miles- 5:33

After the run I showered and made dinner. Today was Adam’s Captain’s last day- he is retiring, so Adam and I canceled the dinner/wine/movie night so he could spend some time with work friends. When I went to pick up Oscar, my dad gave me this bottle of wine! 🙂

He ran into my Uncle Alan today and Alan gave it to him, but my dad is not a huge red wine drinker. I was super excited to try it because Uncle Alan knows wine! He actually owns a Bistro on Nantucket called Le Languedoc, it is AMAZING!!! The food it OUT OF THIS WORLD! If you are every in Nantucket I really recommend it, you need to make a reservation though…it is a very busy place. I had a glass of wine while cooking and eating, I really took the time to sip it.

It was very good! I love Pinot Noir, my favorite! Dinner was these yummy whole wheat tortelloni that I bought at Costco this weekend.

I only cooked one package and there are a ton of leftovers! While the pasta was cooking I made a quick salad as well.

The salad was: spring mix, tomato, cucumber, orange bell pepper and carrots with an organic light Italian Dressing and some cracked black pepper.

I had about a cup of the tortelloni with some marinara sauce and some vegan “cheese”.

It was perfect! YUM YUM! After I ate dinner Oscar and I headed up to my parent’s house where there was some birthday cake!

I had a small piece with some tea with a little fat free milk.

The cake had strawberries and whipped cream frosting…TO DIE FOR! My parents and I decided to have a movie night! It was great to hang out with them and watch a movie, and nice relaxing Friday night! Well, I am off to read in bed! I know, I know I am a party animal!!!!

See you in the morning!

Snacks-On-The-Go!

Hey everyone! I must say for getting less than 3 hours of sleep, I am quite productive. I have sorted though a lot of work stuff this morning and even got that package off to the UK. Around noon, while working, I ate lunch. It was basically a repeat of dinner last night.

It was delicious! Sorry, if it is boring to see it again, I had no energy or desire to be creative this morning. I also had some red grapes too.

YUMMM! I love the crunchy noise grapes make…I am strange.

On my way back from the post office I stopped at Starbucks to get a coffee, in an effort to not end my day with a face plant on my desk. I am down to one cup a day again, but today calls for more than that, I am just a sleepy girl and I need a pick me up. Luckily, Adam bought me a gift card for my stocking so it feels like free coffee to me 🙂

I got a grande skinny vanilla latte:

Now you all know I NEVER get a grande, I always get a short, which is actually so tiny it isn’t even on the menu. I hope I can finish this big ol’ coffee. I have confidence that it will not be an issue 😉
